Hello Parents,
This week we have been very busy in Kindergarten! The students have started learning some nursery rhymes, practicing letters of the alphabet, and writing their names. They have also been learning about the parts of a book like spine and cover while we read Bubbles, Bubbles by Mercer Mayer and Clifford The Small, Red Puppy by Norman Birdwell. In math they have been working at sorting different items (animals, vehicles, blocks, shapes) by color, sizes, and kind; then counting them to see how many they had in each pile.
Also this week students began having homework to complete. Please be sure to work with your student each night to help them complete the practice worksheets. You can also help your Kindergartener practice skills at home; examples like writing their name, reading stories together, and counting out loud (counting steps, toys, or things you pass by in the car).
*Reminders*
August 25 – Picture Day!!
September 2 – Mum Fundraiser Envelopes Due
Thanks for your time and support,
Ms. Clark and Ms. Lois
